On the Crikvenica Riviera, the tradition of lighting bonfires, which symbolises the beginning of spring, has been preserved right up to the present day. In Crikvenica, Jadranovo and Selce, bonfires are lit on Midsummer's Eve, and in Dramalj on the feast day of St. Petrus. On these occasions, local folklore associations perform traditional songs and dances of the littoral region.
